British Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics signed up as partner
We are pleased to announce that the British Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (BSHI) have signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. The BSHI represents professionals with an interest in histocompatibility and immunogenetics, so their involvement with the PSP will ensure that we capture uncertainties relating to transplant histocompatibility and tissue typing.
Kid’s Kidney Research signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that Kid’s Kidney Research have signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. The organisation raises funds for research into children’s renal disease, so we hope that the PSP will help to identify uncertainties in paediatric kidney transplantation that may warrant future funding.
Alport UK signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that Alport UK have signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. Alport syndrome is a genetic disorder that results in kidney failure and hearing loss. Kidney transplantation is a potential treatment option for patients with Alport syndrome, so is is important that this group are represented in the PSP.
Oxford Transplant Foundation signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that the Oxford Transplant Foundation has signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. The foundation raises funds to support patients and staff at the Oxford Transplant Centre, including research activities.
South West Thames Institute and Kidney fund signed up as partners
We are pleased to announce that the South West Thames Institute for Renal Research and the South West Thames Kidney Fund have signed up as partners to the Kidney Transplant PSP. Both organisations are involved in research aimed to improve the treatment and care of patients with renal disease.
Give a Kidney Charity signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that the Give a Kidney Charity have signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. The charity provides education and support for living kidney donors. As living donation falls within the scope of the Kidney Transplant PSP, this partnership will help us in our aim to reflect the opinions of donors in the PSP process.
BAPN signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that the British Association for Paediatric Nephrology (BAPN) have signed up as a partner to the kidney transplant PSP. As the scope of the PSP includes paediatric transplant recipients, this is an important step towards ensuring that all those with an interest in this area are represented in the PSP process.
PKD charity signed up as partner
We are pleased to announce that the trustees of the Polycystic Kidney disease (PKD) charity have agreed to act as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. They will be helping us promote the process to their members, giving those involved with the charities a chance to have their say in the future of transplant research.
British Renal Society signed up as a partner
We are pleased to announce that the British Renal Society have signed up as a partner to the Kidney Transplant PSP. This will give their members a voice in the prioritisation process, as well as helping us to publicise the initiative to a wide range of professionals involved in treating renal disease.
Dr Simon Ball, President of the society, will also be representing the BRS in the steering group.
